CROWNED: THE MOTHER OF ALL PAGEANTS [1/2 an episode]
More like The CW's illegitimate child of Queen For A Day and Mark Burnett. Eight-episode series where mother-daughter teams compete to be "crowned" and win $100,000 while whining, moaning, getting "de-sashed", etc. The worst part is that I think this paved the way for Toddlers & Tiaras...
* January 30, 2008 (Finale): Who will win, and who cares? Original commercials (which are better than the show itself!), last 26:23 only. [56.2/OB, WSFL-39 {Miami, Florida}]

DANCE WAR: BRUNO VS. CARRIE ANN [1 episode]
American Idol plus So You Think You Can Dance? equals this flash-in-the-pan Dancing With The Stars spinoff that feels more like High School Musical (no points for guessing it's ABC and Disney).
* January 7, 2008 (Premiere, two hours): First 1:23 looks at the auditions and who will go to Hollywood, while the next 23 minutes look at the Hollywood audition (from which 14 will go through to the actual show) and the last 14 minutes are the group's first live performance. Original commercials, which are better than the show itself! [55.6/OB, WPLG-10 {Miami, Florida}]

DANCING WITH THE STARS [3 episodes, 1 clip]
Very popular dancing show based on something PBS has done for the past 30 years. (Judges on all episodes are Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Bruno Toniou.)
Season Five (September-November 2007; Drew Lachey fills in for the first part of the season due to Samantha having a baby the day before the season began)
* October 1, 2007: Partial episode, runs 16:26. [44.11/OB, WPLG-10 {Miami, Florida}]
* October 8, 2007 (95-minute episode): Original commercials, VERY grainy-but-watchable video toward the end. [45.4/OB, WPLG-10]
* October 9, 2007 (Drew's Finale): Original commercials. [45.9/OB, WPLG-10]
* November 27, 2007 (Season Finale, two hours): Which of the final three couples will win? Original commercials, intro missing, grainy-but-watchable video. [51.2/OB, WPLG-10]

KID NATION [2 episodes]
Notorious CBS series where 40 kids rebuild a New Mexico town in 40 days with no adults around. If it was meant to be a social experiment, it worked pretty well (the kids tended to be pretty smart), but the Survivor-esque challenges seemed unnecessary.
* October 10, 2007 ("Bless Us & Keep Us Safe"): The kids try to set up a religious service, which they actually handle better than most adults (some say there should be one service with different religions getting up and talking about it, while others say there should be separate services due to the differences between religions). This intelligence extends to the reward decision where, given the choice of a mini-golf course or a library of holy books, they choose the books. Original commercials (including a Price Is Right promo!), grainy-but-watchable B/W video that screws up at times. [46.3/OB, WPEC-12 {West Palm Beach, Florida}]
* December 12, 2007 (Finale/"We've All Decided To Go Mad!"): A look over the course of the series...and pretty much a destruction of the kids' work (including the Job Board and Journal) because they expected to be renewed (the next group of kids would've had to start from scratch, though I think building and destroying the same town repeatedly kinda defeats the point). Original commercials, grainy-but-watchable video that screws up at times. [51.6/OB, WPEC-12]

THE NEXT BEST THING [2 episodes]
Weird-but-generally-fun show featuring celebrity impersonators, some of whom were amazingly dead-on.
* June 27, 2007 (Semi-Final #1): Tina Turner, George W. Bush, Elvis Presley, Lucille Ball, Tim McGraw, Paris Hilton, Shania Twain, Jay Leno, Celine Dion, Bono, Simon Cowell, Madonna, Al Pacino, Robin Williams. Original commercials, first two minutes missing. [36.5/OB, WPLG-10 {Miami, Florida}]
* July 11, 2007 (Semi-Final #2): Little Richard, Robin Williams, Barbara Streisand, Elvis Presley, George W. Bush, Gloria Estafan, Dolly Parton, Howard Stern, Roseanne Barr, Frank Sinatra, Kenny Chesney, Jackie Gleason & Art Carney (as Ralph Kramden & Ed Norton), Jack Nicholson, Rodney Dangerfield. Original commercials. [37.1/OB, WPLG-10]

THE NEXT GREAT AMERICAN BAND [3 episodes]
Basically FOX attempting American Idol WITH BANDS! (The first episode below is two hours, while the other two run an hour each.
* October 26, 2007 (taped 10/24?/07): The remaining 12 bands face off. Original commercials. [48.2/OB, WFLX-29 {West Palm Beach, Florida}]
* November 9, 2007 (taped 11/7/07): The remaining eight bands perform. Original commercials. [51.1/OB, WFLX-29]
* December 21, 2007 (Finale, taped 11/19/07): The remaining three bands compete to get an exclusive contract. Original commercials. [52.10/OB, WFLX-29]

ON THE LOT [1 episode]
Great but short-lived (16 episodes) FOX show where aspiring film directors vie for a job at DreamWorks. Like the Sundance Film Festival, only televised.
* August 21, 2007 (Finale, Part 2): Will vs. Jason vs. Adam. Judges: Carrie Fisher and Garry Marshall. Films: Die Hardly Working, Under the Gun, Catch. Original commercials, "crackly" audio for first two minutes. [39.2/OB, WFLX-29 {West Palm Beach, Florida}]

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? [1 episode, 1 clip]
Slightly British FOX show that seems to be Dancing With The Stars...only less British and without stars.
Season Three (May-August 2007)
* June 28, 2007 (Result Show #3): First 2:14, with some guest dancers. [36.9/OB, WFLX-29 {West Palm Beach, Florida}]
* August 16, 2007 (Season Finale, two hours): Who will win the season? Original commercials, first hour or so has "The Dreaded White Line at The Bottom of The Screen", occasional quirky-but-watchable video and constant crackling sound afterward. [39.1/OB, WFLX-29]
